EXPECATIONS:
*You must complete the first module within 7 days of purchase in order to obtain needling supplies.
*You must complete the course to 100% within 90 days to obtain CE credits and recognition as a Certified Dry Needling Practitioner (CDNP)
*You must complete the course to 100% within 60 days to obtain recognition as a Certified Dry Needling Practitioner (CDNP)
*Needle supplies may take up to 14 days to arrive, and will arrive may arrive in separate packages.
*All written and video assignments must be submitted as outline in the course introduction.
*You are liable for maintaining a safe and clean space according to OSHA standards.
PREREQUISITES:
*Active malpractice insurance (If you are covered by Employer /Clinic/Company/University/College malpractice insurance, then you can also take the class). Must submit upon registration.
*Signed liability waivers. Female attendees must sign to certify they are not pregnant.
*Non-licensed professional (students) must be enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Chiropractic or Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Must submit proof of enrollment upon registration. Must be a trimester 5 or higher for enrollment.
OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, attendees will:
- Have a thorough understanding of Dry Needling history, theory and clinical applications.
- Understand normal and abnormal muscle contraction physiology.
- Identify precipitating and perpetuating factors in trigger point (TP) syndromes.
- Identify muscle attachments and trigger points by surface anatomy, palpation and muscle testing.
- Identify ligamentous and tenoperiosteal tissues by surface anatomy.
- Properly insert needles into each tissue identified including depth and angle of penetration.
- Understand and apply Joint Centration concepts into a treatment plan.
- Understand absolute and relative contraindications to Dry Needling therapy.
- Identify type of tissue encountered at the end of a needle using “needle palpation.”
- Utilize the different needling techniques and stimulations performed across the field.
- Discuss and apply electrical stimulation to inserted needles.
ABOUT THE COURSE:
• Access to lectures and resources are available immediately after purchase, and are expected to be completed within 90 days for CE accreditations.
• Each participant is responsible for completing and submitting video and written assignments before moving to the next module.
• Failure to submit assignments will lead to sanction and the participant may not resume the course.
• All live labs require participants to perform dry needling on a live participant and submit video for analysis.
• Manuals and handouts will be available online.
• Class materials (needles and biohazard containers) will be provided upon completion of the first module of the course to the address on file. Please allow up to 14 days from the completion of the first module for delivery.
• Participants must complete all online lectures, videos and assignments from the online modules accordingly.
Certification will only be awarded upon successful completion of the course after all submissions have been graded.
Our Online Certified Dry Needling Practitioner course is PACE certified for Chiropractors and meets all the APTA requirements for Physical Therapists in Missouri. Individual state accreditation must be requested.
For the purpose of this course, dry needling is taught as one part of the treatment package for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. An introduction to corrective load management, rehabilitation and stimulation via exercise medicine will be provided to the participants.
